The drip cake and naked cake Phenomenon hit the scene in a big way in 2015 and has continued to grow with popularity ever since and is right on trend this summer with the decoration possibilities being endless.
I love making colourful ombre buttercream cakes with chocolate drippings, there so versatile, fun and no two are ever identical, it’s easy to see why everyone loves them. Drip Cakes work for almost any event so if your looking for an elegant wedding cake, fabulous baby shower cake, or crazy showstopper party cake drip cakes could be the way forward!

In recent years baby showers have become a popular way to celebrate the soon arrival of a little one and a nice way for the mum-to-be to see all her friends an family before her due date. I know that i have had alot over the past few years and often we’ve shared games, gift ideas and present from one shower to the next.
But these types of events can be overwhelming and Im sure im not alone in feeling, that events like this, where you are the centre of attention are not something i particular enjoy, but i do love the gathering and the party type feel of it. With the soon arrival of baby Baker number two, i was faced with wanting to see friends and family but in a more relaxed way. With the gorgeous sunshine we have been having, i crossed my fingers that if i was to have a garden party it wouldn’t rain!! but as always i never make it straight forward, i like things with a taste of Norwegian, so heres how i did a DIY, budget baby shower with a scandi feel.

Of course I wanted to create all my own stationery and bake my own wedding cake, not only for the cost saving but because its our day and I wanted to.
Today as I look through our wedding album I realise how special it was to us as a couple and how fortunate i was to be able to do so much myself, so in this post I share this experience with all those brides to be as reassurance its possible to have a DIY wedding (even if your not a designer like me) to have all you want and come out of it semi-sane, happy and proud of what you have created…

I am always looking for ways to add a personal touch to any event and like many of the things i end up designing, the original request is a personal one. Weather i have an event to attend and want to take a gift or i simply want something for my own home.
